| Wire sculpture, oil paints. "So when I brought this home, I told my parents to guess what it was. My mother guessed a bee. Okay, close, it's a living thing that flies and buzzes (or hums...) around and eats out of flowers. My dad? He said "Is it an airplane?" ...Really? An airplane? ...And what, may I ask is the thing in front of it? Is it the eye of a storm? A fountain in the sky? I don't think there are any giant flowers in the sky Dad. My parents are insane. Okay, so back to the explanation of the art... Ahem. It is a wire sculpture painted with oil-based spray paint in Caribbean Blue, Chrome and Flat black. The base of it may look kind of unplanned, but it was made that way to show movement and to be able to hold up the bird and flower. Its name? Flutter." Artist: Jaclyn Baird |
